A friend of mine who goes to synagogue and believes Yeshua is the “Messiah,” told me that a triune God is impossible because in the Hebrew language the word “Spirit” is translated “God’s Breath.” I stopped for a moment and sent up a quick prayer. Then I thought, but did not say, “So what?” He is the Spirit of God after all, and Jesus is God’s Son, but that doesn’t negate the fact that He is used in the Bible as a living Entity, and co-The greek word for power pertaining to the Holy with the Father and the Son.
The first thing that came to mind was the scripture in:
Eph 4:30 MKJV : And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you are sealed until the day of redemption.” And
Gal 5:22-23 MKS But the fruit of the Spirit is: love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith, (23) meekness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
Paul is speaking as if the Holy Spirit is a person, with emotions and attributes. Hence, this blog will straighten out any misconceptions of the “Power of the Holy Spirit.”
Note: Do not take what the Bible says lightly. It could mean everlasting death for you. As some think, or do not think of the Holy Spirit, Remember He is the One inside you, but only if you are a child of God.
Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible, Abington Press says: Regarding the Spirit in Hebrew Chaldee -” Mind, Wind Spirit.” In the Greek the word for power in the same verse as the Holy Spirit appears in:
Act 1:8 MKJV But you shall receive power, the Holy Spirit coming upon you. And you shall be witnesses to Me both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
The Greek word for “Power” used in that scripture is “dunamis,” from force specifically . Miraculous Power (usually by implication. A miracle it-self), ability; abundance; meaning; might; (worker of) miracle (s); power, strength; violence, mighty (wonderful work). Enable strengthen.”
Finding Power and Holy Spirit in the same scripture denotes using this Greek word.*

The Holy Spirit are interchangeable as is the Father and The Son. Marvel at this: The God that made the universe is inside you!
Isa 61:1-3 MKJV “The Spirit of the Lord Jehovah is on Me; because Jehovah has anointed Me to preach the Gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
Isa 61:2-3 MKJV to preach the acceptable year of Jehovah and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn;
(3) to appoint to those who mourn in Zion, to give to them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the mantle of praise for the spirit of heaviness; so that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of Jehovah, that He might be glorified.”
Isa 6:1 MKJV In the year that King Uzziah died I then saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and His train filled the temple.”
Luk 4:18-19 MKJV “The Spirit of the Lord is on Me; because of this He has anointed Me to proclaim the Gospel to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim deliverance to the captives, and new sight to the blind, to set at liberty those having been crushed, (19) to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”
Holy implies sacredness, being consecrated to God, or being worthy of God.
We gain by our losses. It was expedient for the disciples that the Lord should go, because the Spirit’s presence was contingent upon his absence. The text needed to be completed before the great sermon could be preached. Christ’s work must be finished before the Spirit could apply it. Every phase of human experience centers in Him whom the Holy Spirit reveals. Whether it be convicted of sin , or faith, or hope, all begin and end with Jesus. The chief sin of the present age is the rejection of Christ, and it is for this that men are condemned. The assertions of Jesus as to Himself are vindicated, and His righteousness is established. His divine mission was proved by His resurrection and ascension. The Cross was the scene of Satan’s judgement . There a prince of this world was condemned and cast out. His power is broken, though he still does his utmost to intimidate and hinder the followers of Jesus.

Jud 1:7-8 MKJV as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them, in like manner to these, committing fornication, and going away after other flesh, laid down an example before-times, undergoing vengeance of everlasting fire. (8) Likewise, indeed, also these dreaming ones even defile flesh, and despise rulership, and speak evil of glories.
At the beginning of Acts, Jesus’ followers appear confused and fearful. But by the end of the book they are well on their on their way to transforming the Roman world with the Gospel. What accounts for this dramatic change? Acts 1:8 provides the answer, “You shall receive power.”
The power was promised was not forced or political authority. Israel had enjoyed superiority under David and Solomon, but those days were a distant memory. Jesus was not indicating a revival of Jewish dominance. Instead the word “Power” means ability or capacity Jesus promised that once the Holy Spirit came upon them, the followers, His followers would have a new ability.The ability had to do more with “being” than “doing”. The believers would be “witnesses,” not just “do witnessing”. Evangelism is a process, not just an event. It involves total lifestyle, not just occasional efforts.The witnesses were to be “witnesses to Christ, not to themselves. They were to make disciples not to themselves but to the risen Lord.
Mat 28:18-20 MKJV And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, All authority is given to Me in Heaven and in earth.”
(19) Therefore go and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
Why would we be baptized in the Holy Spirit’s name, as it appears in Matthew 28:19? “baptized in the name of THE FATHER, of THE SON, and OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. They are distinct!
This what the Bible says folks and it cannot be changed.
(20)” teaching them to observe all things, whatever I commanded you. And, behold, I am with you all the days until the end of the world. Amen.”
Immanuel: “God with us.” The Bible tells us that Jesus is in Heaven. Therefore, He sent the Comforter, the Holy Spirit to be with us. Since the Holy Spirit is a part of the triune God, he is in Jesus’ stead.
The Spirit’s power came upon people like ;
Joshua
Num 27:18 MKJV And Jehovah said to Moses, Take Joshua the son of Nun, a man in whom is the Spirit, and lay your hand upon him.”
In “Vine’s Greek Dictionary”, the Holy Spirit can be looked at three ways:
Matthew 28:19 as above, what Jesus is saying, the Spirit becomes a “noun”, a person.
In Galatians 6:1 MKJV “Brothers, if a man is overtaken in a fault, you the spiritual ones restore such a one in the spirit of meekness, considering yourself, lest you also be tempted.” The spirit becomes an adjective.
In Rom 8:6 MKJV “For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.” The Spirit becomes an adverb.
I was advised to look at the Book of John for some answers.
Joh 3:8 MKJV The Spirit breathes where He desires, and you hear His voice, but you do not know from where He comes, and where He goes; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit.
Like the Father & Son, the Holy Spirit is at the disposal of the other persons of the triune God, and all three are one in cordially being at the disposal of the redeemed family of believers. The Holy Spirit’s manner and ministry are noticeable by charity. His chief function is to clarify Jesus’ teaching, to Glorify His Person, and to work in the life of the individual believer and church.
However, this doesn’t always happen in our churches. People don’t even know if they have the Spirit or not. Somebody is going to pay, but do not let it be you, because following man won’t get you into Heaven. Search the scriptures yourself and if you have a question, ask the pastor of your church, and if he cannot. Find another church where the pastor knows the scriptures and you will learn.
The Spirit Remember that this explains why the relationship of the Father & Son is more prominent in the Gospels, because it is through the eyes of the Holy Spirit that the Father-Son relationship is viewed. It is remarkable fact that each of the Trinity serves the others and as all defer to one another.
The Father and the Son Honor the Holy Spirit by commissioning Him to speak in Their Name.
Joh 15:26-27 MKJV And when the Comforter has come, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He shall testify of Me. (27) And you also shall bear witness, because you have been with Me from the beginning.”
Joh 14:16 MKJV And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, so that He may be with you forever,”
Joh 14:26 MKJV But the Comforter, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in My name, He shall teach you all things and bring all things to your remembrance, whatever I have said to you.”
The Spirit is one Person of the triune God. He has an incredible job keeping God’s children safe, all the while comforting us, convicting us, not to mention:
Gal 5:22-23 MKJV But the fruit of the Spirit is: love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith, (23) meekness, self-control; against such things there is no law.”
The Holy Spirit is not a thing, He is a Person who stands as part of the Trinity. He works in tangent with the other two and not separately from Them. Search the scriptures!
