My experience

Anxiety, Fear, and the Corona Virus

Wow! Who knew? I was writing this blog about anxiety and fear and here we have a Pandemic.

I have a mixture of scriptures and surprise! You will see that in recent times we had the CoV-2 virus before. It just comes in different flavors.

Remember, if you have faith, you will be victorious. Because the worst thing that can happen to us is to be in Heaven with our Maker.  Imagine that! So, where’s your faith, Christian? You can stand on God’s promises, so show the world how we honor our God, by not stealing toilet paper, Lol! Be a testimony for our Lord, Jesus Christ.

“And as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? And what shall be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the world?  (Mat 24:3 MKJV)

“And Jesus answered and said to them, Take heed that no man deceive you.  (Mat 24:4 MKJV)

For many will come in My name, saying, I am Christ, and will deceive many.  (Mat 24:5 MKJV)

“And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled, for all these things must occur; but the end is not yet. (Mat 24.6 MJKV)

“For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines and pestilences and earthquakes in different places.  (Mat 24:7 MKJV)

All these are the beginning of sorrows.  (Mat 24:8 MKJV)

We were warned, and I expect most of you read these passages. Be ready to Endure. It’s peculiar that when it happens, we shrink back to what we were before Christ. Where’s your faith, Christian.

I see it like this: God is 100% in control and if He wants you, He will take you. If not, He will be there to strengthen and standby you.

“And when these things begin to happen, then look up and lift up your heads, for your redemption draws near.  (Luk 21:28 MKJV)

Matthew 24:1-14

Successive generations have pored over these words of our Lord with great eagerness, endeavoring to extract from them a clear forecast of the future. In the case of the early Christians, they warned them to flee to Pella, and in doing so, to escape the destruction of Jerusalem by Titus. But to all of us, they are full of instruction.

It is best to consider these paragraphs as containing a double reference. In the first place, up to Mat_24:28, they evidently deal with the approaching fall of Jerusalem. Our Lord describes the events which were to mark the consummation of the age, Mat_24:3, R.V., margin. Antichrists, disturbances of physical and national conditions, the persecutions which the infant Church must encounter, the progress of the gospel, and finally the swoop of the Roman eagles on their prey-all these were to mark the close of the Hebrew dispensation and the birth of the Christian Church.

“And He said to His disciples, Therefore I say to you, Be not anxious as to your life, what you shall eat; nor for the body, what you shall put on.  (Luk 12:22 MKJV)

A DJ from The Joy FM said that all of the past “Flu’s” had the Corona Virus. So, I want to share with you a few of those Pandemics.

Our Pastor said this past Sunday, the 15th, 2020, that you shouldn’t be afraid, or anxious as to what will happen to you. However, you ought to be vigilant as to putting yourself and others in harm’s way.

Swine influenza is an infection caused by any one of several types of swine influenza viruses. Swine influenza virus (SIV) or swine-origin influenza virus (S-OIV) is any strain of the influenza family of viruses that is endemic in pigs. As of 2009, the known SIV strains include influenza C and the subtypes of influenza A known as H1N1, H1N2, H2N1, H3N1, H3N2, and H2N3.

The 2009 flu pandemic or swine flu was an influenza pandemic that lasted from early 2009 to late 2010, and the second of the two pandemics involving H1N1 influenza virus (the first of them being the 1918–1920 Spanish flu pandemic), albeit a new strain. First described in April 2009, the virus appeared to be a new strain of H1N1 which resulted when a previous triple reassortment of bird, swine and human flu viruses further combined with a Eurasian pig flu virus, leading to the term swine flu“. It is estimated that 11–21% of the then global population (of about 6.8 billion), or around 700 million–1.4 billion people, contracted the illness — more in absolute terms than the Spanish flu pandemic, with about 150,000–575,000 fatalities. A follow-up study done in September 2010showed that the 2009 H1N1 flu was no more severe than the yearly seasonal flu.

2002-2004 SARS

The 2002–2004 SARS outbreak involving severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) originated in Foshan, China in November 2002. Over 8,000 people were infected, and at least 774 died worldwide.

“Be sensible and vigilant, because your adversary the Devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking someone he may devour;  (1Pe 5:8 MKJV)

“And which of you by being anxious can add one cubit to his stature?  (Luk 12:25 MKJV)

“And do not seek what you shall eat, nor what you shall drink, and stop being in anxiety.  (Luk 12:29 MKJV)

“For all these things the nations of the world seek after, and your Father knows that you have need of these things.  (Luk 12:30 MKJV)

“But rather seek the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you.  (Luk 12:31 MKJV)

“Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.  (Luk 12:32 MKJV)

“Sell what you have and give alms. Make for yourselves purses which do not become old, an unfailing treasure in Heaven, where no thief comes nor moth corrupts.  (Luke12:33 MKJV)

“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.  (Luk 12:34 MKJV)

“Son of man, eat your bread with quaking and drink your water with trembling and anxiety.  (Eze 12:18 MKJV)

“And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars. And on the earth will be anxiety of nations with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; (Luk 21:25 MKJV)

“men fainting from fear, and expecting those things which have come on the earth. For the powers of the heavens shall be shaken.  (Luk 21:26 MKJV)

“And then they shall see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.  (Luk 21:27 MKJV)

“casting all your anxiety onto Him, for He cares for you.  (1Pe 5:7 MKJV)

“But the God of all grace, He calling us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a little, He will perfect, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.  (1Pe 5:10 MKJV)

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.  (Php 4:6 MKJV)

“And the peace of God which passes all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.  (Php 4:7 MKJV)

“Finally, my brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honest, whatever things are right, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue and if there is any praise, think on these things.  (Php 4:8 MKJV)

“Do those things which you have also learned and received and heard and seen in me. And the God of peace shall be with you.  (Php 4:9 MKJV)

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.  (Heb 11:1 MKJV)

Anxiety gives away how much faith we have in God and His promises. Consequently, the world sees us. Let’s set a splendid example.

We hear of the adversary in Zec_3:1. The enemy of Christ desires to hurt the Shepherd by injuring His flock.

This is so if you are a Christian or becoming one, the Devil will do everything in his power to hinder you. However, our God is bigger and stronger than that and He promises He will be there for us. We never fight alone. In fact, He does the fighting for us.

“But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, that through me the preaching might be fulfilled, and that all the nations might hear. And I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.  (2Ti 4:17 MKJV)

The hunger of a lion for his prey is an emblem of the insatiable desire of our spiritual foes for our undoing. Walketh about-temptation never assails us long from the same quarter. Perhaps the figure of a roaring lion suggests an outburst of persecution, which made timid people tremble. See 2Ti_4:17.

All grace is in God for every hour and needs, 1Pe_5:10. We too are called to His eternal glory through Christ. The path of suffering, and that path alone, Leads to the world where suffering is unknown. The suffering is only for a little while. Perfect, that nothing be lacking; establish, that we may not waver; strengthen, that we may stand and withstand.

“And He showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the Angel of Jehovah, and Satan standing at his right hand to accuse him.  (Zec 3:1 MKJV)

“But the God of all grace, He calling us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a little, He will perfect, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.  (1Pe 5:10 MKJV)

Leave your burden at the cross! Prayer then listens for what the Holy Spirit inside you has to say before you run off and do your thing. Remember, “God is bigger than your problems,” and He would love to hear it from you. AMEN!

Someone said to me once, “Once you give your burden to Jesus, allow Him to take care of the problem, let Him work in your life. The worst thing you can do is to take that burden back to the cross, it would be like putting another thorn in His head.”

That did it! As I have come to know our Lord, in all His parts, by researching Him in the scriptures and praying to Him just like talking, it gets easier and easier to have Him reveal Himself in the scriptures. The essential point is to stay close to God, pray every day, and leave it in His hands. It is part of His plan.

And we read His plan in Matthew 24:7. In addition, I would like to add that I did not want to alarm you with our past pandemics, I just wanted to show how resilient we are because of Him.
